News 29th Sept

This meeting we all started out about the spices map. Emma B read out the different things as we assessed ourselves on the spices map. We then all went outside and played ninja!
When we went back inside we decided what jobs needed to be done and gave them to people:
Paddy: organising paintballing
Oisin: Food Paintball weekend
Fionn: Hike
Stephen: skiing in kilternan
Dylan: Go-Karting

Night Abseil
September 29th, 2011
Last week the Ventures took a step into the unknown and went abseiling at night, in the pitch dark, in Dalkey Quarry. Unfortunately nobody thought to take any photos so we have absolutely no proof, but I promise we did do it.
This was a great activity, if slightly terrifying for some. Everything went perfectly, we even had a spotter at the bottom with a torch to let people know when they were coming close.
If any other section is interested in trying out climbing or abseiling please let us know.

Registration and AGM Evening
August 31st, 2011
A new Scouting year is upon us once again! We will be holding a registration evening and AGM on Monday 5th September at 7:30pm. If you wish your child(ren) to be involved in Scouting again in Blackrock this year they must be registered on that night. Due to the high numbers on our waiting lists for all sections only those Scouts that are registered on that night will have a chance of a place for this year. At least one parent from each family must attend to ensure a spot this year.
Below is the consent from for this year. You only need to fill out one of these for the year. If you like you can print it out and bring it down filled in for the registration and AGM evening Monday 5th September at 7:30pm.
